To that person asking about powering an A/C unit that draws over 5000 watts. Good luck with that. My wife and I took two 7.5’ X 16’ trailers and built a Tiny house on wheels into the two of them. We’ve got two 5000 btu air conditioners. The trailers are well insulated (two inches of Styrofoam). We generally only run one unit at a time. But occasionally run both. The two of them combined use 1100 watts our microwave uses 1500 watts. My welder uses up to 20 amps. Our lights, water pumps, phones, laptops, TV, stereo are 12 volt or don’t require the inverter to charge their batteries. We’ve got 24 6 volt deep cycle, (lead-acid) golf cart batteries (about $150.00 a piece).
I’m going to take a wild guess, that he’s trying to cool a house, possibly a mobile home. So most likely will have a lot more than a really hungry A/C unit running. It’d take more information to give a correct answer. Like how well is it insulated, to start. That’s just to estimate how often the compressor kicks on (using more power).
