I don't have much to compare it with, but here are some of my experiences as someone who got this and no prior experience with inverters.
I found it easy to hook up. Wires are thick and everything feels high quality. I use it on power tools and a fan in my shed. It seems to handle what I throw at it. Multi tool, hammer drill, and jig saw. I've only run them one at a time, but with some lights on and a 60w fan going I had no issues.
The one star reduction is because the instructions are awful for what I needed. I'm using this with a 200ah gel battery. I wanted to use the ac block output for a small breaker panel. What I couldn't find anywhere was what were size fits on the block, what max amps you could pull, or anything about wiring. The most it says is to follow nec rules. I understand that everyone's application will be different, but the ac block skills probably have better details for those who want to use it. I would at least put the recommended wiring somewere.
Your mileage may vary, but it's a great inverter with ok instructions. Unless you're an electrician, you may struggle with the AC block. That or I'm a big dumdum
